Games and In-App-Purchases

Do you like games having In-App-Purchases?

Some of you might answer this question as NO.

To tell you the truth that, gaming industry is suffering from piracy. Especially paid games. There is no perfect solution to prevent piracy but there are ways to make it more tricky and complex to pirate a game. One of the ways to make games more protected from piracy is to make a game free and implement In-App-Purchase in the game. They are called as freemium games.

Since, In-App Purchase requires server side authentication and also involves obfuscation it becomes more hard to crack. Also, user is not required to pay upfront and then play the game. Gamer can download the game, start playing and then start buying in-game items/levels as the game progresses.

In-App Purchase technique really saved the game industry. That's why many developers opted to implement In-App Purchase. But this leads to misuse this technique. Many game companies are looking it as only a money making way and thus games are losing the fun and entertainment part of it.

Those who are using In-App Purchase without considering good game play must understand that this is harmful to game industry. Gamers are not fool. One day they will realise your scam and start opposing you. Once the gamers starts hating then there is no way to survive.

Game developers must consider an entertainment and fun part of the game first and then implement In-App Purchase around the game play in a very careful and thoughtful way.
